In March of 2009 I retired from the Smyrna Georgia Police Department after 35 years of service. My interest in knives dates back many years however I never knew that I could actually make one myself until I attended my first Blade Show in 2000. Shortly thereafter, I found out about the Georgia Custom Knifemakers' Guild. The first member I met was Carl Rechsteiner. He gave me my first class on forging, tips on building my own propane forge, and he's has answered hundreds of questions for me since. I will forever be in his debt.
I attended the A.B.S.'s Bill Moran School of Bladesmithing in 2008 (Washington Arkansas). I use both stock removal and forging to make my knives.
